AASHTO Releases New Publications Catalog

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) has released its latest AASHTO Publications Catalog (2012, Volume 6). The new publications catalog features the following new AASHTO publications and interims:

Pavement Management Guide, 2nd Edition

The Pavement Management Guide, 2nd Edition, was developed to address the issues and challenges associated with managing pavements effectively, including assessing funding needs for pavement preservation and rehabilitation, and setting attainable pavement-related performance goals. It is designed for use by pavement management professionals, and those seeking general knowledge of pavement management concepts. The Pavement Management Guide is available in print (Item Code: PMG-2) or as an online downloadable publication (Item Code: PMG-2-UL) on the AASHTO Bookstore.

Guide for the Development of Bicycle Facilities, 4th Edition

The Guide for the Development of Bicycle Facilities, 4th Edition, provides comprehensive information and guidance to planners and designers on the facilities—or physical infrastructure—needed to accommodate bicycle travel. Although it presents sound guidelines that result in facilities that meet the needs of bicyclists and other highway users, sufficient flexibility is permitted to encourage designs that are sensitive to local context and incorporate the needs of bicyclists, pedestrians, and motorists. The Bike Guide is available in print (Item Code: GBF-4) or as an online downloadable publication (Item Code: GBF-4-UL) on the AASHTO Bookstore.

Manual for Emulsion-based Chip Seals for Pavement Preservation, 1st Edition

The Manual for Emulsion-based Chip Seals for Pavement Preservation, 1st Edition, addresses the factors affecting chip performance, discusses design and construction considerations, and identifies procedures for selecting the appropriate chip seal materials. It provides highway agencies with the information necessary for designing and constructing long-lasting chip seals and preserving pavements. The material contained in the report should be of immediate interest to state maintenance engineers and others involved in the maintenance and preservation of flexible pavements. The manual is available as an online downloadable publication (Item Code: MEBC-1-UL) on the AASHTO Bookstore.

In addition, the new publications catalog features two new bridge interims:

2012 Interim Revisions to the Guide Specifications for LRFD Seismic Bridge Design, 2nd Edition (Item Code: LRFDSEIS-2-I1)

2012 Interim Revisions to the AASHTO LRFD Movable Highway Bridge Design Specifications, 2nd Edition (Item Code: LRFDMOV-2-I4)
