Nominations Being Accepted for Transportation Planning Excellence Awards |
|
The Transportation Planning Excellence Awards Program is now soliciting nominations for 2010 awards.
Every two years, the program recognizes outstanding initiatives across the country to develop, plan, and implement innovative transportation planning practices. The program is sponsored by the Federal Highway and Transit administrations as well as the American Planning Association. Eligible for nomination are projects, processes, groups, and individuals that have used FHWA and/or FTA funding sources to make an outstanding contribution in the field of transportation planning. Nominations are due March 15. Award winners will be announced in Summer 2010. "Excellent planning work occurs in many communities and states across the country, but the Transportation Planning Excellence Awards winners go well beyond the standard practices and incorporate truly innovative and extraordinary efforts," said Gloria Shepherd, associate federal highway administrator for planning, environment, and realty.
